Key roles and responsibilities
- Take responsibility for the management of client accounts (and individual projects as needed), ensuring that all projects are completed to the highest standards, on time and within budget. Related tasks and responsibilities include:
- Being accountable for the success of assigned accounts.
- Acting as the main client contact for assigned accounts.
- Ensuring the successful planning, management, execution, and outcomes of all projects.
- Taking responsibility for solving any challenges arising on the account, including ensuring that any conflicts that may arise with clients/other stakeholders are smoothly resolved.
- Ensuring quality by:
- Providing in-house or freelance writers with comprehensive and easy-to-understand briefs for individual projects.
- Reviewing and editing the work delivered by in-house or freelance writers so that each deliverable provided to our clients is of the highest standard.
- Developing high-quality content from new as required.
- Setting and updating project timelines (with support of other team members [e.g. a Senior Scientific Project Lead] where applicable).
- Managing account finances (with support of other team members where applicable), including developing budgets, tracking costs, leading budget reconciliations, ensuring timely issuing of invoices, and forecasting account revenue.
- Working with your business unit management team, ensuring each project is suitably resourced and team member workloads are appropriate.
- As company lead on specific client accounts, establish and grow working relationships with each client, such that our reputation within the client company is established/enhanced.
- Contribute to the personal development of our editorial team members by:
- Providing expert guidance as needed during development of each deliverable.
- Providing constructive feedback upon completion of each deliverable.
- Participating in delivery of internal training or other mentorship activities.
- Take on line-management responsibilities, providing expert guidance so that line reports fulfil their roles and responsibilities for the company and are fully supported in their continuing personal development.
- Contribute to the growth of Aspire Scientific by participating in or leading new business activities.
- Take an active role in one of the company’s workstreams.
- Follow company procedures – and guide our team to follow the same procedures – with respect to administrative and project-related tasks. To include, but not limited to, daily completion of Toggl timesheets, adherence to editorial procedures, and timely and accurate Dropbox file housekeeping.
- Liaise with clients, healthcare professionals, contractors, and any other relevant third parties in a professional, courteous, and efficient manner.
- Keep up to date – and help our team to keep up to date – with relevant industry guidelines including, but not limited to, Good Publication Practice and International Committee of Medical Journal Editors Recommendations for the Conduct, Reporting, Editing, and Publication of Scholarly Work in Medical Journals.
